Create Logo Animation

1. Create Logo Animation

The first step in preparing the channel ident is that I will prepare the logo animation as an opening so that it can increase the first impression of the audience. I took many other steps considering the Adobe version used by the content creator was an old version. Sometimes it's difficult to follow all the tutorials, but I explored all the features and this is how I make a logo animation for opening.

1. Creating the Composition
   - Create a new composition (you can use whatever works for you).
   - Create a circle using the Ellipse Tool, holding Shift to keep the shape a true circle.
   - Set the Fill and Stroke properties, then align the circle to the center of the composition.

2. Setting the Anchor Point
   - Set the anchor point to the middle of the circle by holding down Ctrl and clicking on the Anchor Point Tool in the toolbar.

3. Adding Trim Paths
   - In the circle layer, click Add and select Trim Paths.
   - Drop down the properties for Trim Paths.
   - Go about a second into the timeline and set a keyframe for Start.
   - Move a second or two further and change the Start value to 100%.
   - Move about four to five frames ahead of the first Start keyframe and set a keyframe for End, setting End to 0%.
   - Move about five frames ahead of the last Start keyframe and set End to 100%.
   - Apply Easy to Ease (Ease In) to all keyframes and set the End Caps to Round to smooth the corners.

4. Duplicating the Circle
   - Duplicate the first circle shape layer.
   - Press R to change the rotation of the duplicated layer (e.g., 180 degrees).
   - Duplicate the layer again, press S to scale it down, and adjust the Stroke width.
   - Press U to see all keyframes on this specific layer and adjust the timing to offset the other circles.

5. Creating the Logo
   - Create a new composition, size 500x500, and name it Logo.
   - Import your logo, create a white circle as the background, and place the logo on top.
   - Drag the logo composition to the intro composition timeline.

6. Adding Liquid Animation to the Logo
   - Draw a liquid-type mask with the Pen Tool on the logo layer.
   - Set keyframes for Mask Path at the start and end of the animation.
   - Adjust the mask path midway to create a wave effect.
   - Apply Easy Ease to keyframes and adjust in the Graph Editor for smoother transitions.

7. Adding Effects and Background
   - Add a Glow effect to the logo and circle animation.
   - Create a solid layer for the background, add the Gradient Ramp effect, and adjust colors. my setting for Buble is just like the picture above.
   - Create another solid for particles, add the CC Ball Action effect, and choose any effect that you like for circle animation.
   - Add Gaussian Blur to smooth out the particles.

8. Adding Final Details
   - Create circle sprites that grow using the Scale and Stroke Width properties.
   - Duplicate and spread the sprite layers across the composition.
   - Choose any effect that you think is interesting. for me I just use rotation but still wow for me.

My Channel Ident

My YouTube Channel Ident: Using Various Adobe Software.

Introduction:

Adobe software such as After Effects and Premiere Pro is the best software for improving video editing and animation skills. Although I faced technical challenges with After Effects, such as masking, keyframes, and video export problems, I managed to complete the logo animation with patience and basic knowledge. Premiere Pro is my top choice because of its ease of creating text animations. I also use Adobe Illustrator to create logo.

I generally use 2 Adobe software, namely After Effects and Premiere Pro. This is because I want to learn more about both of the software. I'm more comfortable using Premiere Pro because it's easier to create various animations on text and others compared with After Effect. When using After Effects to create logo animations, I have many problems such as masking, adjusting keyframes, exporting videos, making rotations, and in fact, almost all layers have their own problems. However, with the patience and expertise of a beginner, I was able to complete the animation for the logo as well. Almost forgot, I also use Adobe Illustrator to create the logo. Since this assignment is only to explain the Ident, I don't need to explain how it is made :). This is my experience with creating channel ident. 💆

The Journey of Building Channel Ident begins. 💨

Before starting to make the ident channel, I drafted an idea and sketched a video as my guidance to avoid some mistakes. For this, I ask myself, identity for what? focus for what? and what elements must be there?. About the problem of interesting or not I set it aside. The important thing is this ident can be explained to the viewers of this channel. So, this is my draft:

What about color? Is there an appropriate color to describe coffee?

For that, I decided to choose the color of coffee beans and coffee which is dark brown, and I think more to orange or yellow. I changed the color of the video using Premiere Pro (Effect Control: Tint). To be honest, I worked hard for this by adjusting one by one color of the videos because it can harm some videos since the amount of Tint required varies according to the original color of each short video.

Color Guide

Who is my favorite YouTube channel and inspiration to make the channel ident?

This YouTube channel always starts the travel adventure video by Ident. For me, it looks more interesting and I as a viewer want to see the video until the end. That's why I chose a combination of video and text animation in Channel Ident as the best way to describe my YouTube Channel. So now I want you to experience it yourself by this link👇.

5 Main Steps in Making Ident Channel: 💥

1. Create Logo Animation

       👆link logo animation
My Business Logo

This is my simple logo was made using Adobe Illustrator😔. This is just for introduction and how do I make it from ordinary to extraordinary😍?. Follow my experience by pressing that link.

2. Add Video

As I mentioned before, I use Premiere Pro for this, and the picture above is just the beginning part of combining the videos I have taken from the website (Freepick, Pixabay, and I forget some). The way is easy by just importing (embedded file) to upload any file to After Effects.

The number of short videos initially is 10 not including the logo animation. However, I decided to delete 1 to reach the target of the ident duration of only 30 seconds. For the layers, I don't arrange it in only 1 layer, but I make each video for each layer. This is to make it easier for me to determine only certain parts that need to be included in the ident. For videos, I put together starting from coffee beans, the process of making water and bread, and at the end, I put a video of coffee and bread that is ready for sale.

The challenge in combining videos😤

I prepared this video by exporting it one by one after completing the necessary parts (logo animation, video combination + logo animation, ident including text without audio, and with audio). This is because before I was faced with various problems in Premiere Pro, which is losing files that were already halfway through and not once but almost 5 times. After I export or render the files into an mp4 file, I save it before I combine and add the necessary elements.

3. Add Text Animation

Reference for moving text.

For the text, I did not take ideas or imitate any source. I'm just thinking about marketing and it really helps me to compose sentences well. By referring to various sources and with my own experience using this software, I compiled myself and looked for whatever effect was suitable to be included in the ident. For this, I use 7 different types of effects all of which are in the reference found in the picture below. This is a suitable verse for me to present with sufficient duration.

"BAL_KOPPEE (1), AFFORDABLE KOPPEE DELECTABLE KOPPEE (2), FULL RASA=FULL SENYUM (3), STAY TUNE WITH US!!! (4), PREMIERE EVERY SUNDAY AT 9P.M. (5), & ENJOY (6)"

  • 1: Effects: Lens Distortion, position(from bottom to the middle), and opacity(from 100% to 2.7%)
  • 2: Opacity or Masking (make a shape as a point to start and end the transition), you must set a keyframe by following the movement of the shape.
  • 3: Typing one by one character while inserting a Keyframe for each character from the beginning until the end.
  • 4: Zoom out (set keyframe from 2000%++ to the most suitable size to see then set back to the big scale again for the last one)
  • 5: Effect (VR Light Leaks), effect (VR Spherical Blur). For this effect, you must put the start and end at the duration text animation.

4. Insert Music and Sound Effects.

For the music, I downloaded it from the artlist.io website, and for the sound effects (for the logo intro) also inserted the audio element in the video. I only use CapCut to insert audio because it's easier and more interesting than Audacity. I also use Audacity to cut certain unused parts of this music because have a voiceover dan enough duration of 24 or 25 seconds considering the full song duration is 2 minutes.

5. Combine Video and Audio and Final Review👀

Since the Adobe Premiere Pro that I downloaded was not full, I decided to use Capcut only for combining videos and it was very easy to export to MP4 compared to rendering using Premiere Pro or After Effect.

I think that's all I can share. There is much more that I want to tell and express but as a man, I can only hide that. No one inspires me but this "Do not pray for an easy lives, Pray to be stronger men" -John F. Kennedy-.

Channel Banner by Adobe Photoshop

My Youtube Banner Channel: Using Adobe Photoshop.

Introduction:

Creating a YouTube banner can be a transformative experience, blending creativity with technical skills to produce a visually stunning piece that represents your channel. My journey with Adobe Photoshop began with the need to design a YouTube banner that looked professional and appealing across all devices. Here, I’ll share the process and techniques I used to achieve a cohesive and eye-catching banner, breaking down each step for you to follow and replicate.

Actually, making this YouTube banner is not an easy thing for me. Since this is an individual assignment, coupled with the guidance of my kind lecturer, I forced myself to learn how to make a banner using Adobe Photoshop without the help of Canva at all. I browsed the internet to find out how to make a banner, and I saw many tutorials on YouTube that sometimes lead astray and sometimes lead to heaven. So this is my experience in making banner by using Adobe Photoshop.

Sketching Idea🤔 why sketching? Reader: We can just proceed to make it!!!

For me, sketch is an important thing in starting a project. Before starting, firstly I sketched the strategy of the banner that will be made. I emphasize the position of the writing and the designated spaces for my business information and it is for building my creativity.

Find out my Inspiration😻

Their channel banner also caused me to choose a combination of pictures which is the most attractive banner used for a channel like mine that involves business. Their creative and professional designs have managed to attract my attention. In addition, the use of harmonious colors and clear writing facilitate the delivery of the message to the audience. From their banner channel, I also see how interesting to use good pictures to attract the audience's attention.

Look at some Tutorial

As a beginner in using Adobe Photoshop, I also watch some of video tutorial, especially on YouTube platforms.  It is one of the most important references, more about how to create new designs, and guidance that helps me with certain problems, build my ideas to achieve more creativity, and others. It also makes it very easy for me to complete this channel banner project.

Start With Import Template to Photoshop

-Find a Template:     Search for a banner size template on Google that includes different resolutions for various devices (TV, desktop max, desktop minimum mobile, and tablet).

-Import Template:        Open Adobe Photoshop and import the template. This will help ensure your banner design fits all necessary resolutions.

-Understand Resolutions: Note the different dimensions specified in the template for each device type to guide your design process. Especially to put all the important information.

The Template:

Use Rulers to Align Elements

-Open Ruler Tool:    Press `Ctrl+R` to display the ruler tool in Photoshop.

-Drag Guide Lines:    Click on the ruler and drag guidelines to match the sections indicated in your template. These guides will help align your design elements precisely within the correct areas for each device and also make sure we know where the safe area is to put important information.

Fill Areas Using Shapes and Add Images

- Cover Unused Sections: Use the Rectangle Tool to cover areas outside the primary design sections for desktop and tablet displays with black shapes.

- Select Images:  Download high-resolution, relevant images from Google.

- Add Images: Use "File" > "Place Embedded" to add images. Move all images to the desktop for easy access.

- Arrange Images: Use five images. Arrange them from right to left on the canvas, ensuring each image is on a separate layer.

- Blend Images: Start with the leftmost image, create a layer mask, and use the Gradient Tool (linear, black to white, 50% opacity) to blend transitions between images. Adjust as needed for a smooth transition.

Arrange and Blend Images

-Place Images:    Position all images on the canvas. Use the `Create Clipping Mask` feature to ensure they fit within the designated areas.

-Blend Images:    Starting from the second image on the left, apply a layer mask and use the brush tool to blend the images seamlessly. This step will make the transition between images smoother and more appealing.

 Adjust Colors and Contrast

-Hue/Saturation Adjustment:    Add a `Hue/Saturation` and take that layer on top of all image layers to harmonize the colors.

-Contrast and Text Readability:    Adjust the contrast to ensure the images complement the text you plan to add and of course, it depends on what color you choose for your text. The text should be readable and visually appealing against the image background.

#you want to make a coffee banner, so what comes to your mind must be a color with an aura of coffee, right? that's why I chose this color for a better appearance 😌

From this.                                                       To This.

Add and Style Text

-Choose a Font:    Download a suitable font from [DaFont.com](https://www.dafont.com). Install the font on your computer. I use different fonts for my banner name and other text.

-Add Text:    Use the Text Tool to add your banner’s text. Set the font size to 130pt or another appropriate size.

-Text Effects:    Apply text effects such as Stroke, Color Overlay, Gradient Overlay, and Drop Shadow.

#All of these effects sometimes frustrate me when I compare many previous results, but that effect setting is the best to look at because I have said that. Adjust the settings for these effects to achieve the desired look. Refer to the image settings provided as a guide.

Add Social Media Icons

-Download Icons:    Find and download social media icons from the internet. These icons will provide additional information and engagement opportunities.

-Place Icons:    Add the icons to your banner, positioning them in a way that complements the overall design and does not overcrowd the banner. Just do it until you think that your banner is good-looking.

-Edit Icon:    Same as what I applied in step 6 for text effect but I only use Stroke and Drop Shadow.

Adjust it until the color of my icon contrasts with the background. It's sometimes troublesome because Photoshop can't remove all the unused backgrounds. For that, I am very struggling to manually delete by using masking.

Example Image Settings for Text Effects (from Step 9)

- Stroke:                    Set size, position, blend mode, opacity, and color as per your design needs.

- Color Overlay:        Choose a color that stands out against the banner background.

- Gradient Overlay:   Select a gradient that enhances the text without overpowering the design.

- Drop Shadow:        Adjust the shadow’s distance, spread, and size to create depth and make the text pop.

In conclusion, by following these detailed steps, you will create a well-designed banner that looks great on all devices. Hopefully, you all enjoy my sharing about my experience in making banners by using Adobe Photoshop. In addition, please pray for me to get the highest marks for this first assignment. I also created a logo for my business.
